Special Education for Children with Special Needs

At Sree’s Learning Center, our ultimate goal is to bring children with special needs into mainstream society by inducting them into normal schools. In order to achieve this goal we started Sree’s learning center where we work on school readiness with independency. At Sree’s Learning center, we provide special education to children with Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders, and slow learners. 

At Sree’s learning center, we help the children achieve independency by improving the child’s activities for daily living such as eating, drinking, bathing, toileting and dressing. This is achieved by team effort from occupational therapists and special educators. Communication is worked by speech and language pathologists along with the other team members. We improve their academic skills using specialized teaching aids and teaching approaches which is worked by qualified special educators. Group skills, play, peer interaction is also targeted and worked thus making them ready for the mainstream classroom. We work on extracurricular activities such as music, yoga, skating, arts and crafts, dance, and cooking, thus working on prevocational training skills. 

We also work on community rehabilitation by taking these children to supermarkets, restaurants, and field trips. We conduct regular parental teacher meetings, and parental training sessions, and provide home programs, demonstration therapy, and guidance. Parents are well informed about the child’s development and up-to-date documentation of each child’s assessment, Therapy plans, Individualised Educational Programmes, and progress is maintained at Sree’s center.  

The uniqueness of our Learning center is we maintain a teacher-student ratio of 1:7 (with a class assistant and helper).
